We provide a Christian-based education in a licensed preschool for children ages 3-5. The Preschool operates on a full day basis from 7:30 a.m. through 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. This includes after preschool care, and is included in the preschool fee. The Open Door Preschool follows Bismarck Public School’s schedule. Click here for their schedule.
Our Curriculum
Our curriculum promotes communication, pre-academic, gross and fine motor, and social/emotional skills development, and is based on ND Early Learning Guidelines.
Pricing & Fee structure
The Open Door charges competitive fees that are typically well below the average fees charged in the Bismarck – Mandan area. Full day preschool 5 days a week, 8:15 a.m. through 5:30 p.m., including lunch, snacks and after preschool care=$700 per month. The Open Door also accepts Child Care Assistance Program payments for eligible families.
A nutritious noon meal is provided to full day Preschool children. The cost is included in the fee. Snacks are also provided.
Meet our Staff
Our Director: Jean Rexine took the helm as director in May 2023 after being our lead teacher for the last 8 years! She has worked with children in childcare centers, home childcare, and providing home visits to families with young children.
Teachers: We are currently looking for a new teacher. Details on how to apply will be coming in late June 2023.
Assistants: In addition, the Open Door utilizes assistants, including parents and other volunteers, in the preschool and summer day camp programs. Tina Mitchell prepares the noon meal. Marilyn Johnson volunteers as librarian, processing and organizing the library and media center. Many other volunteers read to the children and engage them in various activities.
